Bark against budget cuts: Join Huskies on the Hill 2012

On Fri., Feb. 3, University of Washington students from all three campuses will travel to Olympia to meet with legislators, rally and advocate for the future of higher education in Washington State.

Students are facing higher tuition costs, cuts to financial aid, the elimination of both the Husky Promise and Work Study, and larger class sizes with fewer teacher assistants.

It is time for legislators to find new sources of revenue to increase state funding. Students deserve a seat at the table. We need to be active participants in the governance of our university. We deserve a high quality education at an affordable cost.

Students can make a difference! It is time to speak up for higher education and BARK against budget cuts. We need you, your roommate, your study partner, your best friend, even your parents to join us. If higher education is not a priority for our legislators, we need to make it a priority.

Date: Fri., Feb. 3, 2012
Rally: 11am, North Capitol Steps
